I am fully insured and follow a careful work style which includes having the proper legal agreements in place before embarking on a project and writing down and agreeing on what the project is, what it delivers, and when to expect the delivery (statement of work).
My hourly rates are very competetive and for predictable projects fixed cost bids are available. I have a well equipped small development lab with additional capacity to handle customer equipment as needed. It is temperature and humidity controlled and remotely accessible. I use remote KVM, PDU switches, and OpenVPN to facility collaboration on projects. All production storage is redundant (RAID-5 or RAID-1) and customer electronic assets are backed by rsync.net secure offsite backup. I don’t loose work.
While no one can predict the future with accuracy I’ve been writing code for a long time and projects that involve technology I know well often have very predictable results.
